I received LinkedIn requests from individuals I didn't know, who happened to work in Fortune 100 companies and presented themselves as entrepreneurs. I disregarded all requests except one. Messages started coming through the messaging app, and I responded to the first one, uncertain whether it was of a professional or personal nature. The second message heightened my suspicions. That's when I sensed something was amiss and ceased responding to messages—I believe I also reported the profile.
